Some fathers who are deemed to be unreliable, often feel guilty and try to overcompensate by giving the child money or gifts. Although the child will see nothing wrong with this and will become to associate their father with presents or money. One way to get around this is to suggest things that she needs, such as shoes, or pay for a school trip. It is doubtful that you can change your ex, after all if a man cannot put time aside to have contact with his child whats the point? The most important thing for you as a mother is to ensure that your child is instilled with good morals, and to be independent not get used to being showered with gifts by any man, let alone her father.
