If you are a parent with sole care, following separation, sometimes for whatever reason the child refuses to have contact with the other parent. When you have a child refusing to go, many parents would feel bad trying to force the child. Unfortunately, if court is involved the court do not always appear to understand the difficulties. If the sole carer is the mother, she may be doing her upmost best to facilitate contact, or the mother may be alienating the child against him. Rightly so the court consider what’s in the best interest of the child, and consider the child’s wishes and feelings, depending on the child’s age and understanding. Some courts may make the decision to stop contact without appearing to consider the absent parent’s feelings or point of view. Other courts may order the mother to make the child available for contact even though have expressed their wishes not to go. If you have been in this position, can you share your experiences?
